GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the organization's 2025-26 Academic All-America® teams for women's tennis. Fairmont State's
Hope Backx was recognized for her academic and athletic accomplishments.
Backx earned Third Team Academic All-America® honors as she is the first Falcon in the women's tennis program history be named an Academic All-American. Currently holding a 4.00 GPA in Political Science, she was named First Team All-MEC and earned CSC Academic All-District honors this season.
Nine of the 18 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women's tennis teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The seven members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.99. The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Division II Academic All-America® program.
