FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The 13th-ranked Fairmont State University men's tennis team welcomed Bloomsburg University to campus. The Falcons took down the Huskies, 4-0.
The Falcons opened the match with a commanding showing in doubles play. At No. 1 doubles,
Kusunoki Haruto and
Noah Liedtke defeated Denis Dementev and Sergio Dilan, 6-2.
Keagan Karungagaran and
Gabriel Masu followed with a 6-4 victory over Jack Seaborn and Jaime Soria at No. 2 doubles, while
Mohamed El Helaly and
Gustavo Masu completed the sweep with a 6-1 win against Landon Wall and Alejandro Higuera at No. 3.

Fairmont State continued its momentum in singles. At No. 4 singles, Karungagaran earned a straight-sets win over Soria, 6-2, 6-3. El Helaly added another dominant result at No. 5, defeating Dilan 6-1, 6-1, while
Jasper de Bruijn secured a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Wall at No. 6.

Several other matches were left unfinished after the Falcons clinched the team victory. Haruto dropped the first set 7-5 but led the second 5-2 at No. 1 singles against Dementev. At No. 2, Liedtke trailed Higuera 6-4 and the second set was tied 2-2 when play was halted. At No. 3 singles,
Gabriel Masu was in a tight contest with Seaborn after a 7-6 second-set tiebreak and held a 2-1 lead in the deciding set when the match concluded.
Fairmont State (8-1) will entertain Kutztown University on Saturday, March 21 for its next match.
