BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University women's tennis team ventured south to face Bluefield State University. The Falcons swept Big Blue, 7-0.

At No. 1, Hope Backx and Lara Smith picked up a victory via retirement, while the duo of Maria Fonseca and Stephanie Gopar earned a solid 6-4 decision at No. 2. Alara Akgul and Laura Maciel capped off doubles play with an impressive 6-2 win in the No. 3 position.

Carrying that momentum into singles, Fairmont State left no doubt, winning all six matches in straight sets.
