WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's tennis team traveled to face West Liberty University. The Falcons were able to sweep the Hilltoppers, 5-0.
The Falcons set the tone early by claiming the doubles point.
Kusunoki Haruto and
Noah Liedtke secured a solid 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Gabriel Masu and
Keagan Karungagaran cruised to a commanding 6-0 victory in the No. 2 spot.
In singles action, Fairmont State continued its momentum with a clean sweep across the completed matches. Haruto led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win, followed by another strong performance from Masu at No. 2, who won 6-2, 6-1. Karungagaran added to the tally with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 3, and Liedtke was dominant at No. 4, dropping just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 decision.
Fairmont State (14-3, 2-2) returns to campus on Friday, April 24 to face Davis & Elkins College. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m.
