CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's tennis team faced West Virginia Wesleyan College in the semifinals of the MEC Championship. The Falcons defeated the Bobcats, 4-0.
Fairmont State won the doubles point after
Kusunoki Haruto and
Noah Liedtke defeated Felipe Mioch and Jheng Min Huang, 6-3 while
Mohamed El Helaly and
Gustavo Masu beat Daniel Podoprygora and Timithe Plaza.

The Falcons then took the second point, in single number five match, as El Helaly beat Timothe Plaza, 6-3 and 6-1. The third point came in the number one singles match as Haruto defeated Felipe Mioch, 6-3 and 6-1.

The final victory sealing point came in number four singles. Liedtke defeated WVWC's Jheng in Huang, 6-2 and 6-2, as the Falcons advance to the 2026 MEC Championship.
Fairmont State will face the University of Charleston for the MEC Championship on Sunday, May 3 in Charleston. Match time is set for 12:00 p.m.
