ALFRED, N.Y. – Fairmont State and Alfred State played two extra periods and were unable to break a the 1-1 tie and the game ended in a tie on Saturday afternoon.
Fairmont State outshot Alfred State, 6-0, in the extra period despite being outshot 22-18 in the game. Shawna Graham recorded 14 saves in the Falcon goal, allowing her only goal at the 48:24 mark when Kali Muhleisen scored on a corner kick that was perfectly placed by McKenzie Miller. Stephanie Delawder tied the game just over a minute later to wrap up the scoring on the afternoon. Bre Wright was credited with the assist on Delawder's goal.
Kelsey Hayes led the Falcons with seven total shots and three shots on goal in the game.
FSU will return to action on Thursday evening when they travel to WV Wesleyan for a 5:30 start.
