Fairmont State Men's Basketball Notebook
- The second-ranked men's basketball team will prepare for its second top 10 matchup of the season against No. 6 West Liberty on Thursday evening at Joe Retton Arena. In the first matchup of the season back on Dec. 5, West Liberty survived in an 88-86 battle at the ASRC.
- Since falling to WLU in early December, the Falcons have won 13-straight games.
- The first showdown between the two teams this season saw 10 ties and 17 lead changes before the game ended with a two-point margin.
- Statistically, the Falcons outshot the Hilltoppers 47.7-41.7 percent from the field and FSU made two more baskets from behind the arc. Both teams shot less than 30 percent from three. The Falcons also had three fewer turnovers in the game.
- However, the difference in the game came from the charity stripe, as West Liberty knocked-down 32-of-39 free throw attempts on 32 fouls whistled on FSU. FSU struggled from the free-throw line, making just 16-of-27 attempts.
- Matt Bingaya, Fairmont's leading scorer at 20.1 points per game, led FSU with 18 points and seven rebounds in December's matchup with the Hilltoppers. Bingaya is in the top 20 in the country in field-goal percentage (62.8).
- Bingaya needs just two points to go over 1,000 career points in his college basketball career.
- FSU is in the top 25 in NCAA Division II in scoring offense (93.1), scoring margin (15.6), three-point field goals (10.2), steals (9.1), turnover margin (5.5) and turnovers forced (18.05).
- The Falcons lead the MEC in turnover margin (+5.45) and are second in the MEC in offensive rebounds per game (13.00)
- Jamel Morris leads Fairmont State from behind the arc with 53 three this season, shooing 39 percent from long range. Morris is second on the team, averaging 13.2 points per game.
- Thomas Wimbush is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.3 points per game this season. Last Saturday against UVa-Wise, Wimbush scored the first four points of the game to go over 1,000 points in his career at Fairmont State.
- Jason Jolly is averaging just under double-figures at 9.2 points per game off the bench this season. Jolly made the game-winning layup last Thursday against Concord and is also third on the team with 33 three-pointers this season.

Scouting the Hilltoppers
