FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Former Fairmont State standout forward
Thomas Wimbush was selected with the fourth overall pick in the National Basketball Association G-League Draft on Saturday afternoon, joining the Long Island Nets, an affiliate of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets.

Wimbush, a standout at Fairmont State from 2013-17, totaled 1,719 career points in his four-year FSU career – garnering first team All-MEC and second team All-Atlantic Region honors after helping the Falcons make a historic postseason run to the Division II National Championship Game in Sioux Falls, S.D. this past season. Wimbush was named to the MEC and Atlantic Regional All-Tournament Teams for his postseason play in 2017.

Originally from Lorain, Ohio, Wimbush was a four-time All-MEC standout for the Falcons and shot over 50 percent from the field in his four-year FSU career. Wimbush also finished in the top 10 in FSU history in career blocks with 99.
