Final Results: Men | Women
ROANOKE, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State men's and women's golf teams wrapped up play at the Mountain East Conference Fall Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Stonewall Resort in Roanoke.
The FSU women finished sixth at the event, led by a second place finish by
Sydney Brill. The freshman shot a +24 in the two rounds of play – three shots behind the winner. Brill had a round one 87, before lowering her score by six shots for an 81 on day two.
Concord's Natalia Jornet won the event with a two-day score of 165, including a round-low 80 on day two on Tuesday. West Virginia Wesleyan moved from third to first in the second round of play to take first place at the event.
On the men's side, FSU took ninth place, lowering its day one score of 355 by 17 shots on day two (338). The Falcons were led by
Brandon Wilfong with a two-day score of 162 – shooting an 82 in round one and an 80 in round two.
Bailey Mohr finished four shots behind, with a two-day score of 166 to finish in a tied for 24
th at the invitational.
West Liberty finished atop the team standing at the event after having the top two individual finishers of the tournament in Cory Hoshor (155) and Michael Rogers (156).
FSU will now prepare for the Mountain East Conference Fall Championships on Oct. 9-11 at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.Va.
