WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Fairmont State University women's golf team secured a third-place finish with a team score of 716 at the 2026 Vulcan Fire Classic, highlighted by
Emerson Simons tying for second individually with a 160.
Emerson Simons tied for second place with a final score of 160 (+16). Simons improved her performance significantly in the second round, carding a 77 (+5) after an 83 (+11) in the first round.
Candela Lopez Prino finished tied for 18th, concluding the tournament with a final score of 176 (+32). She demonstrated notable progress in her second round, shooting an 83 (+11) compared to her opening round of 93 (+21).
Marra Johnson secured 21st place with a total score of 179 (+35). Johnson's performance included a first round of 92 (+20) and a second round of 87 (+15), showing a slight improvement as the tournament progressed.
Gianna Koski finished 36th as she had a two-round total of 201.
Isabela Martinez rounded out the competing five with a two-day score of 210.
Fairmont State returns to the course on Monday, March 30 for the Belterra Classic hosted by Cedarville University. The two-day tournament will take place at Belterra Golf Club in Florence, Indiana.
