FLORENCE, Ind. — Fairmont State University placed sixth at the Belterra Classic with a final score of 1,019, highlighted by
Emerson Simons' ninth-place individual finish with a 235 (+22) over three rounds.
Emerson Simons led Fairmont State with a ninth-place finish, completing the tournament at 22-over par (235). Simons improved each round, starting with a 79 (+8) in Round 1, then posting an 80 (+9) in Round 2, and finishing strong with a 76 (+5) in the final round.
Candela Lopez secured 19th place, closing the tournament at 36-over par (249). Lopez showed consistency in the last two rounds, carding identical scores of 82 (+11) after an initial 85 (+14) in the first round.
Marra Johnson tied for 24th place with a final score of 41-over par (254). After a challenging opening round of 91 (+20), Johnson recovered with rounds of 81 (+10) and 82 (+11) to close out the event.
Gianna Koski and
Isabela Martinez rounded out the Falcon five. Koski finished 34th while Martinez placed 35th.
Fairmont State next tournament is the Ohio Dominican NC4K Classic on Monday, April 6 through Tuesday, April 7. The tournament will take place at the Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio.
