FAIRMONT, W Va. – The Fairmont State women's golf team was slotted fourth in the Mountain East Conference Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday (Aug 25) afternoon.
 
The Falcons totaled 55 total points in the preseason poll. The team is coming off a third-place finish in the MEC spring tournament. Fairmont returns second team All-MEC member Emerson Simons and All-MEC Honorable mention Gianna Koski.
 
Charleston, the defending MEC champions received 72 points and nine first place votes to land them in first in the preseason poll. Glenville state is voted second with 59 points followed by wheeling with 54 points and one first place vote.
 
The Fighting Falcons will start off their season on Sept 2^nd at the Vulcan Invite in California, Pa.
