The Matchup
- Fairmont State will be looking for its third victory of the season over Concord, when the Falcons open Mountain East Conference Tournament play on Friday at 2:15 p.m.
- The Falcons breezed past Concord 91-77 in Fairmont back on Jan. 4, before edging the Mountain Lions in the rematch on Feb. 10 in Athens.
- Fairmont State owns an 80-36 all-time record over Concord in a series that began back in 1930. The Falcons have also dominated the series as of late, holding six-consecutive wins over the Mountain Lions. In addition, Concord has won just two of the last 11 meetings between the programs dating back to the 2012-13 season.
- Fairmont State and Concord have never met in the MEC Tournament.
- Fairmont State will have to matchup with the conference's leading scorer in Friday's quarterfinal round. Tommy Bolte is averaging 31.2 points per game, shooting over 50 percent from the field, and has 12 scoring performances of 30 points or more this season.
- Bolte scored 20 in the first matchup of the season in Fairmont, before dropping in 39 in last month's matchup in Athens.
- In the first matchup of the season in Fairmont, Fairmont State shot nearly 56 percent from the field and got a career-high 28 points from Andrew Emrick in the runaway victory. Emrick finished 12-of-13 from the field.
- Fairmont State used a 14-3 run midway through the second half during the meeting in Athens to take control of the matchup, before holding off Concord late 86-80. Vonte Montgomery scored a team-high 21 points in the win.

- Fairmont State has used a balanced offensive attack this season, with five players averaging double-figure scoring. Jason Jolly is leading the way at 15.5 points per game. Following Jolly is four players averaging between 10 and 12 points per game. In fact, Fairmont State has seven players averaging eight or more points per game this season.
- Eight different players have led the Falcons in scoring this season, including Jason Jolly, Vonte Montgomery, Caleb Davis, D'Ondre Stockman, Andrew Emrick, R.J. Hutcherson, Kenzie Melko and Vince Franklin. In addition, 12 different players have reached double-figure scoring this season and six have recorded 20-points or more in a game.
- Jolly has recorded four scoring performances of 30 points or more.
- The Falcons currently rank 15th in the country and second in the MEC in scoring offense at 86.8 points per game. FSU is also one of the top three-point shooting teams in the country, ranking 13th in the country averaging 11.5 three-pointers per game.

- Fairmont State has made 10 or more threes in 17 games this season, but are still 9-2 in games when they make less than 10 threes.
- The Falcons are currently ranked ninth in the Atlantic Regional Rankings.
MEC Tourney History
- Fairmont State will look to advance to its third MEC Tournament Championship game in the last four years this week in Charleston. The Falcons dropped both championship game appearances, falling to Glenville State (65-58) in 2015, and West Liberty (67-65) in 2017.
- The Falcons are 5-4 in the four-year history of the MEC Tournament, advancing to at least the semifinal round in three of four appearances.
Record Watch
- Fairmont State's Jason Jolly and D'Ondre Stockman are both moving up in the FSU record books in career three-pointers. Jolly, with 213 career 3-pointers, needs just four during this week's MEC Tournament to become the all-time school leader.
- Stockman ranks fifth in school history with 157 career 3-pointers. Stockman needs just eight more three-point field goals to move into fourth in FSU history, past Chase Morgan (164). Stockman's .441 three-point field goal percentage is also the third-highest in Fairmont State history.
- In addition to closing in on the three-point field goal record at Fairmont State, Jolly also ranks eighth in program history with 295 career assists.
- Jolly and senior Caleb Davis became the 47th and 48th players in program history to go over 1,000 career points this season. Jolly currently ranks 40th in FSU history in career scoring with 1,180 points. Davis went over 1,000 career points on Saturday, Feb. 17 on senior day against WV State. Davis has 1,014 career points.
- Stockman, who has 692 points in two seasons at Fairmont State, also has 1,000 collegiate points as the senior scored 553 points at Division III Marymount before transferring to Fairmont State.
- Vonte Montgomery is also closing in on 1,000 career points, currently with 891 career points in three seasons at Fairmont State.
Trio Earns Mountain East Conference Honors
- A trio of Fairmont State men's basketball players earned Mountain East Conference honors on Tuesday afternoon when the league announced its 2017-18 postseason awards and all-conference teams. Caleb Davis, Jason Jolly and Vonte Montgomery were each named to the All-MEC second team for their efforts on the court this season.
- Davis, a fifth-year senior from Charlotte, N.C., finished third on the team in scoring as a senior averaging 11.4 points per game. Davis is also averaging a team-high 6.0 rebounds and has notched 69 assists and a team-best 36 steals on the year. Davis surpassed the 1,000 points mark in a win over West Virginia State on senior day back on Feb. 17. Davis became the 48th player in program history to go over 1,000 career points. Davis is shooting 50.7 percent from the field this season and has reached double figures in 17 games.
- Jolly, a junior from Ashburn, Va., is leading the Falcons in scoring this season at 15.5 points per game to go along with a team-high 108 assists. Jolly is also pulling down 2.3 rebounds per game and has drained 83 three-pointers on the year. Jolly's 83 three-pointers as a junior ranks sixth in a single season at Fairmont State. Jolly, who has 213 career three-pointers, needs just four more threes to become the all-time school leader in the category. Jolly is also shooting 83.7 percent from the free throw line (77-of-92) this season.
- Montgomery, a junior from Cleveland, Ohio, ranks second on the team in scoring (11.5) and third in rebounding (4.6) this season. Montgomery, who is shooting 44.2 percent from the field as a junior, has reached double-figure scoring in 16 games and has led the Falcons in scoring in five games. Montgomery has also chipped in 54 assists and 33 steals this season.
