• Fairmont State is coming into tonight's contest with an overall record of 3-2 and 2-0 in Mountain East Conference play. The Fighting Falcons began conference play with two wins over Davis & Elkins (89-63) and West Virginia Wesleyan (80-58).
• The Falcons and Golden Eagles last played on February 3rd, 2021 with Charleston earning the victory inside Joe Retton that evening. Sierra Kotchman led Fairmont State with 14 points in the game with Alyssa DeAngelo and Madeline Huffman following with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
• Head Women's Basketball Coach Stephanie Anderson enters her third season at the helm of the Fighting Falcon program and enters tonight with an overall record of 25-26 in her coaching career.
• Charleston holds the series all-time series lead, 35-24, over Fairmont State with the series dating back to 1979. The Falcons' last victory over the Golden Eagles came on February 15, 2018 with Fairmont State picking up the 56-54 at Joe Retton Arena.
• Fairmont State shot well from the free-throw line going 20-23 on the night as Kotchman led the Falcons in scoring with 15 points.
• Redshirt Senior Kotchman now owns the all-time school record in career points with 2,115 total points. Kotchman is also on pace to break the record in field goals made as she now has 728 made baskets in her Falcon career and sits in third place. Kristen Gattuso carries the record with 738 made shots in her four-year career at Fairmont State.
• Fairmont State is fourth in points per game (79.2 ppg) in the MEC with Alderson Broaddus being in the first spot while averaging 95.0 points per game.
• On the defensive side, the Falcons are sixth in scoring defense (71.8 ppg) in the Mountain East Conference with tonight's opponent Charleston only allowing 64 ppg in six contests.

Fairmont State Women's Basketball (3-2, 2-0 MEC) returns to Joe Retton Arena on Saturday afternoon when they host West Virginia State (4-1, 0-1 MEC) at 2:00 p.m.
