- Fairmont State is now ranked #14 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll with fellow Mountain East Conference member West Liberty cracking the top ten at #9 this week.. 

- Men's Basketball is also ranked fourth in the D2SIDA Atlantic Regional Poll that was released on Monday afternoon. MEC member West Liberty is third in the rankings as Indiana (Pa.) claims the top spot with an overall record of 7-0. Mercyhurst (2nd) and Charleston (5th) round out the top five of the Atlantic Region Rankings.

- Fairmont State is in their first meeting with both Felician and The University of The Sciences with both schools a part of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Felician and USciences are scheduled to play each other in a conference matchup on January 22nd, 2022, in Philadelphia.

- The Fighting Falcons are now 7-2 on the season and 4-2 in MEC play with Fairmont State dropping a 99-96 overtime contest to Glenville State on December 13th. Zyon Dobbs led the Falcons with 26 points as Isaiah Sanders joined Dobbs with another 20+ point game with 24 points. Dobbs also collected a double-double with 12 rebounds to go along with 26 points. Cole VonHandorf (13 points), Seth Younkin (11 points), and Briggs Parris (10 points) rounded out the Falcons in double-figures at Glenville State.


- Fairmont State is third overall in the MEC in scoring average (85.0 ppg) with West Liberty being ranked first with 101.0 points per game. On the defensive side, the Falcons are first in scoring defense allowing 72.3 points per game in nine contests. Sanders leads the conference in scoring with 24.6 points per game and Younkin is second in the MEC in pulling down 10.2 rebounds per game. Fairmont State is also first in defensive field goal percentage with opponents only shooting 39.7% from the field.
- Tim Koenig enters his third season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Fairmont State and carries an overall record of 45-14 at Fairmont State.

The Fighting Falcons return to Fairmont on Monday, January 3rd, 2022, when they host Carlow University at 4 p.m. inside Joe Retton Arena on Dan Cava Court.
