Women’s Golf Takes 8th at UC Invitational

Chambers Cards Hole in One

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State women's golf team competed at the University of Charleston Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Edgewood Country Club.

Over the course of the two-day event, the Falcons shot a team score of 359 in round one and 349 in round two to turn in an eighth-place finish. 

Redshirt senior Sydney Brill shot 25 over par and finished in a three-way tie for 29th place to lead the Falcons. Brill began the tournament with an 85 in the first round and followed that up with an 84 in the second round of play. 

Mia Chambers carded an ace on the 145-yard fourth hole Monday. 

Gannon took first in team standings with a total score of 625 after trailing Mercyhurst by 11 strokes in round one. 

Fairmont State will return to action on Monday, September 20 at the Wally Edgell Invitational at Canaan Valley Resort. Play will wrap up on Tuesday, September 21.
