- Fairmont State is now ranked #14 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll while fellow Mountain East Conference member West Liberty slipped to #15 in Tuesday's release. The University of Charleston is also receiving votes in the latest release. The Falcons were also featured in the top 25 of the D2SIDA Men's Basketball Poll at No.23.
- Fairmont State is in their 134th all-time meeting with D&E as the Fighting Falcons hold a commanding 93-40 series lead over the Senators. The first contest in the series dates back to 1925 when Davis & Elkins won 34-30 over the Falcons. The most recent matchup came on November 20th, 2021 when Fairmont State shrugged off a slow start to capture the 80-66 victory over the Senators. You can find the game recap of the contest

- Last time out, Fairmont State overcame a 15 point deficit at halftime to defeat West Liberty, 100-97, on Saturday afternoon. The win was also the first inside West Liberty's "ASRC" since February 14th,2008
- The Fighting Falcons are now 13-2 on the season and 8-2 in MEC play with Fairmont State picking up their six-straight win of the season against the Hilltoppers on Saturday afternoon, 100-97.
Zyon Dobbs led the Falcons with 25 points on 10-15 shooting from the floor as five teammates joined Dobbs in double-digit scoring on the night.
Isaiah Sanders added 24 points while
Cole VonHandorf registered 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists as
Seth Younkin collected another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Dobbs earned a double-double as well with 11 boards to go along with his 25 points.
Briggs Parris had four three-pointers to add up to 12 points and Georg Mangas (10 points) earned his fifth straight game with 10 or more points.
- For his efforts last week,
Zyon Dobbs was named the Mountain East Conference Co-Player of the Week with Glenville State's John Williams. On the week, Dobbs averaged 17.0 points per game as the Fighting Falcons went 2-0 with wins over Wheeling University and #8 West Liberty. The Falcons also extended their win streak to six games on the season.
- On Saturday, Senior Guard
Isaiah Sanders was named to the 2022 Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List. The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character, and team achievements. This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award will only be given to one player within Small College Basketball per season. Sanders is ranked 10th in the nation in scoring with 23.0 points per game and is second in the MEC behind Glenville's John Williams.
- Fairmont State ranks third overall in the MEC in scoring average (88.0 ppg) with West Liberty being ranked first with 98.1 points per game. On the defensive side, the Falcons are second in scoring defense allowing 76.0 points per game in 15 contests.
Seth Younkin leads the way on the boards for the Falcons and the conference as Younkin averages 10.6 rebounds per game with over eight rebounds coming from the defensive side.

Tim Koenig is in his third season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Fairmont State and carries an overall record of 51-14 at Fairmont State. Koenig earned his 50th career win at the helm of the Fighting Falcon men's basketball program after the 95-84 win over Wheeling last Wednesday night.
#18 Fairmont State (13-2, 8-2 MEC) is back at Joe Retton Arena on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. when they host Frostburg State in MEC action.
