- Fairmont State is now ranked #23 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll with fellow Mountain East Conference member West Liberty remains at #8 in the rankings. The University of Charleston is receiving votes in the latest release.
- Fairmont State is in their 149th meeting with the Battlers as the Fighting Falcons hold the 91-57 series advantage over AB. The Falcons last played AB in Philippi on February 20, 2021, where Fairmont State picked up the 79-78 win inside Rex Pyles Arena.
Isaiah Sanders led the Falcon scorers with 25 points on the evening as
Cole VonHandorf (21 points),
Dale Bonner (15 points), and
Zyon Dobbs (10 points) collected double-digit points as well.
- The Fighting Falcons are now 9-2 on the season and 4-2 in MEC play with Fairmont State picking up two wins over non-conference opponents in Felician (W, 88-82) and the University of the Sciences (W, 94-55) prior to the break.
- Fairmont State ranks third overall in the MEC in scoring average (86.1.0 ppg) with West Liberty being ranked first with 96.8 points per game. On the defensive side, the Falcons are first in scoring defense allowing 71.6 points per game in 11 contests. Sanders leads the conference in scoring with 23.9 points per game and Younkin is second in the MEC in pulling down 10.8 rebounds per game. Fairmont State is also first in defensive field goal percentage with opponents only shooting 40.3% from the field.

Isaiah Sanders has scored 20+ points in all but one contest this season with Sanders averaging 23.9 points per game in 11 fixtures and has made 53-58 (91.4%) from the free-throw line. Sanders is ninth in the country in points per game as well.
Zyon Dobbs and
Cole VonHandorf join Sanders in double-figure in scoring averages with Dobbs at 15.3 ppg and VonHandorf with 12.9 ppg.
