BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week's Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.

Fairmont State's Filippa Stalhammar is the Defensive Player of the Week.

Stalhammar played a big role in the Falcons' 2-0 week. In a 4-1 win against West Virginia Wesleyan, Stalhammar had a goal and an assist while playing 79 minutes. Then, she helped lead Fairmont State's defensive effort in a clean sheet at Glenville State.
