No. 14 Fighting Falcons Continue MEC Play with Frostburg State on Saturday Afternoon

UPDATED SPECTATOR POLICY (EFFECTIVE JANUARY 22ND)

- Fairmont State is now ranked #14 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll.The Falcons were also featured in the top 25 of the D2SIDA Men's Basketball Poll at No.23.

- The Fighting Falcons are now 14-2 on the season and 9-2 in MEC play with Fairmont State picking up their seventh straight win of the season against the Senators on Wednesday evening. Briggs Parris paced the Falcons with 27 points at a 9-15 clip from the floor and was 3-3 from the charity stripe also. Cole VonHandorf followed with 17 points on an efficient 6-10 shooting as Isaiah Sanders and Mangas rounded out the Falcons in double-figures with 12 points apiece. Sanders has scored 10+ points in 46 consecutive contests in his Fairmont State career with the first game on February 8th, 2020 against Concord. Seth Younkin had a workman-like game with nine points and 13 rebounds in 30 minutes of action. 

- For his efforts last week, Zyon Dobbs was named the Mountain East Conference Co-Player of the Week with Glenville State's John Williams. On the week, Dobbs averaged 17.0 points per game as the Fighting Falcons went 2-0 with wins over Wheeling University and #8 West Liberty. 

- Fairmont State ranks third overall in the MEC in scoring average (88.3 ppg) with West Liberty being ranked first with 98.6 points per game. On the defensive side, the Falcons are second in scoring defense allowing 75.1 points per game in 16 contests. Seth Younkin leads the way on the boards for the Falcons and the conference as Younkin averages 10.8 rebounds per game with nearly nine boards coming from the defensive side.

- Tim Koenig is in his third season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Fairmont State and carries an overall record of 52-14 at Fairmont State.  Koenig captured his 50th win on the Falcon bench on January 12th, 2022 in a 95-84 win over Wheeling University.
