HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University women's soccer team was set to open the new year at NCAA Division I, Marshall University. Unfortunately, due to weather in the area, the was game was canceled midway through the first half and declared a no-contest.
After a delayed start to the game, the two teams finally took the pitch. With about six minutes left in the first half, another wave of bad weather rolled into the area. After some discussion between officials and the coaches, it was determined that the game would be canceled and ruled a no-contest.
Fairmont State returns to campus to face Clarion University on Wednesday, September 10. First kick from Duvall-Rosier Field is set for 2:30 p.m.
