Reed was one of the premier offensive players in Fairmont State women’s basketball history, playing from 2004-06. She finished her career with 1,021 points, earning two First Team All-WVIAC selections, DII Bulletin Third Team All-American honors in 2006 and the Jasper H. Colebank Award. During Reed’s tenure, the Falcons went 49-12, won the 2005 WVIAC regular-season championship and earned the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history.
Reed’s scoring ability produced one of the most remarkable performances in NCAA Division II history, as she set an NCAA Division II record with 16 made 3-pointers against Columbia Union on Dec. 4, 2005. She finished the game with a school- and WVIAC-record 50 points and a school-record 17 field goals. Reed remains among Fairmont State’s all-time top 10 in scoring average, 3-pointers made, 3-pointers attempted and 3-point percentage, and is the only two-year player in program history with 1,000 points and 200 made 3-pointers.
