Michael was one of the premier running backs in Fairmont State football history, making his mark as a dynamic playmaker throughout the 1970s. A two-time All-WVIAC selection (1974, 1975) and an Honorable Mention NAIA All-American in 1975, Maximin was a cornerstone of the Falcon offense during his four-year career.
 
He ranks third on Fairmont State’s all-time rushing list with 3,199 career yards and stands second in school history with 725 rushing attempts. His most productive season came in 1974, when he posted a career-high 1,123 rushing yards, cementing his place among the program’s elite backs. Maximin’s career was further highlighted when he was named MVP of the 1975 Shrine Bowl.
