Fairmont State University Athletics

Richard Blackstone, an emeritus selection, was a standout on the campus of Fairmont State as he was a four-sport athlete for the Falcons he played baseball, basketball, football, and track in his collegiate career. Blackstone and the Fairmont State baseball program earned WVIAC conference championships in 1967, 1968, and 1970. 

Blackstone was named to the WVIAC All-Conference team in 1969 and 1970. After Fairmont State, Blackstone was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 1970 in the 29th round and played for the Reds for three years.
